Electrak puts future flexibility in the spotlight
Power Distribution specialist, Electrak, has made it easier to meet the specific lighting needs of end users with the introduction of its Lightrak lighting control system.
Using the European standard KNX protocol, the world’s first open standard for building control, Lightrak has been developed as a flexible solution to meet its users’ lighting control requirements. Designed to be rapid and simple to install, the fully addressable lighting control modules are factory programmed, with units simply snap locking onto Electrak’s buscom trunking, or being mounted and wired as stand-alone units.
James Sykes, Marketing Manager at Electrak, explained: “Building regulations such as Part L have made lighting controls mandatory in a commercial setting and, increasingly, end users don’t just want to tick the box, they want a system that really helps them save energy and reduce their carbon emissions in the short and long term. Historically, many lighting control systems have not been flexible enough to adapt when needs change. That’s why we’ve designed Lightrak to offer the latest in hassle-free flexibility, providing all the features you’d expect from a sophisticated lighting control system while making it simple to adapt and update to the end users specific requirements in the future, whatever they might be.”
Offering a wide variety of lighting control features, including presence and absence detection, daylight linking, scene setting, timed event control, dimming and corridor hold, Lightrak can be configured and programmed to suit the needs of any occupier – no matter how complex. And if those needs should change, the system can be reprogrammed by any trained KNX integrator simply by plugging in a computer anywhere on the control network and modifying the settings. This means that Lightrak is not only quick and simple to install but allows modifications to be made with little or no disruption to the occupier.
“Reliability, ease of installation and future flexibility are the fundamental drivers behind development of the whole Electrak range,” James Sykes continues. “Lightrak not only uses a widely recognised protocol which enables the system to integrate seamlessly with building control products from more than 100 manufacturers, it also offers Electrak’s trademark modular approach, spelling clear advantages for both installers and end users.”
